10kV Digital Insulation Resistance Tester | VS-8611
Products Details
VS-8611 10kV Digital Insulation Resistance Tester is engineered for preventive maintenance, commissioning, and condition assessment of high-voltage electrical equipment. By applying a stable DC high voltage and accurately measuring insulation resistance up to 10TΩ, the instrument helps evaluate insulation aging, moisture ingress, contamination, and deterioration before equipment failure occurs. Operating as an essential high-voltage asset in our insulation resistance tester range, it provides comprehensive insulation health analysis.
The tester supports multiple programmable output voltages (250V, 500V, 1000V, 2500V, 5000V, and 10000V), allowing engineers to perform insulation testing on low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical assets. In addition to basic insulation resistance measurement, the instrument automatically calculates Polarization Index (PI) and Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), providing vital diagnostic metrics for assessing insulation quality over time.
The VS-8611 features a large high-resolution color LCD display that simultaneously shows output voltage, insulation resistance, leakage current, test time, battery status, and measurement progress in real time. The intuitive graphical interface enables quick parameter configuration and simple operation in both laboratory and field environments.
To ensure operational safety, the instrument incorporates an automatic discharge function, high-voltage warning indication, output short-circuit protection, overload protection, and low battery alerts. After each measurement, residual capacitive voltage stored in the test object is safely discharged before the operator disconnects the test leads.
Built-in internal memory allows storage of numerous measurement records, while USB communication enables convenient data transfer to a computer for report generation and long-term asset management. Designed for demanding industrial applications, the VS-8611 combines precision measurement, intelligent diagnostics, rugged construction, and portable operation.

How the VS-8611 Works
The VS-8611 applies a stable DC high-voltage output to the insulation under test while continuously measuring leakage current. Based on Ohm's law, the instrument automatically calculates insulation resistance and displays the value in real time.
During extended testing, the tester records insulation resistance over time and automatically calculates the Polarization Index (PI) and Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), providing a comprehensive evaluation of insulation condition. Once the test is completed, the instrument safely discharges any residual voltage before allowing the test leads to be removed.
