Product Detail

Products Details

VS-3125A 5kV High Voltage Insulation Tester is engineered for professional insulation diagnostics in high-voltage electrical systems. It is designed in compliance with IEC61010 safety standards (CAT III 600V / CAT IV 300V), ensuring safe and reliable operation in demanding field environments. Serving as a versatile core model within our high voltage insulation resistance tester series, it gives maintenance teams the quantitative data needed for predictive equipment maintenance.

This instrument provides multiple test voltage steps including 250V, 500V, 1000V, 2500V, and 5000V, making it suitable for a wide range of applications from low-voltage equipment to high-voltage transmission assets. Its high output voltage stability and precise current measurement system ensure accurate insulation resistance calculations up to 2000 GΩ under varying load conditions.

The VS-3125A integrates advanced diagnostic functions such as Polarization Index (PI) and Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), enabling engineers to evaluate insulation aging, moisture contamination, and long-term degradation trends. These diagnostic features are essential for predictive maintenance programs across power distribution networks and heavy industrial facilities.

A large LCD display with a 36-segment analog bar graph visualization provides real-time readings of insulation resistance, test voltage, PI/DAR ratios, and timer status. The instrument also features automatic voltage discharge after measurement, ensuring operator safety by eliminating residual capacitive charge from the tested equipment before disconnecting leads.

Additional intelligent functions include automatic power-off after 10 minutes of inactivity, low battery warning, over-voltage detection, and audible live circuit warnings. With a rugged portable design weighing approximately 1.9 kg, the VS-3125A is suitable for both field maintenance and laboratory analysis.

Product Guide

1. Preparation

Ensure the instrument is powered by 8 fresh C-type batteries. Connect the red test lead to the LINE terminal, the black lead to EARTH, and the green guard lead to the GUARD terminal if guard-ring shielding is required to eliminate surface leakage current. Confirm all connections are secure.

2. Startup & Voltage Selection

Turn the rotary selector switch from the OFF position to the desired voltage range (250V, 500V, 1000V, 2500V, or 5000V). Verify battery status and confirm that no external live AC/DC voltage is present on the object under test.

3. Resistance Measurement

Press the TEST button to initiate high voltage output. Monitor insulation resistance, output voltage, and the analog bar graph display in real time. For extended continuous testing, lock the TEST button into position.

4. PI/DAR Diagnostic Testing

For long-duration diagnostic testing, run the test continuously. The instrument automatically calculates and displays PI (10-minute / 1-minute ratio) and DAR (30-second or 15-second / 1-minute ratio) values.

5. Completion & Safe Disconnection

Release the TEST button to stop high-voltage generation. The instrument automatically discharges residual charges from the test object. Wait until the voltage reading drops completely to 0V before touching or disconnecting the test leads.
