Integrated Cable Fault Location System is a professional solution developed for power utilities, industrial facilities, railway systems, electrical contractors, and cable maintenance service providers. Designed to perform the complete cable fault location process, the system enables fault pre-location, surge testing, route tracing, and precise fault pinpointing for underground power cables and communication cables.
The complete system consists of three major components: a Cable Fault Tester, a Trolley-Mounted High Voltage Surge Generator, and an advanced cable fault pinpointer. Together, these units provide accurate fault diagnosis and location while ensuring safe and efficient field operation.
The Cable Fault Tester features a 12.1-inch industrial touchscreen computer running a stable industrial operating platform. Utilizing Low Voltage Pulse Reflection, High Voltage Flashover Testing, and Multiple Pulse Testing technologies, it accurately measures cable length, propagation velocity, and fault distance. Intelligent waveform acquisition, automatic analysis, and waveform storage significantly improve fault identification efficiency, especially for high-resistance cable faults. The built-in lithium battery allows independent field operation without external power supply, making it ideal for remote testing environments.
The Trolley-Mounted High Voltage Surge Generator integrates a DC high-voltage source, energy storage capacitors, discharge unit, and safety protection system into a compact mobile platform. Designed for cable fault breakdown and DC withstand voltage testing, the generator provides stable and controllable high-voltage output up to 32kV. Multiple protection functions, including zero-start protection, automatic discharge, overcurrent protection, and over-temperature protection, ensure safe operation during high-voltage testing procedures.
For accurate fault pinpointing, the Cable Fault Pinpointer adopts advanced acoustic-magnetic synchronization technology. The system simultaneously detects acoustic signals, electromagnetic signals, and vibration waves generated by fault discharge events. By automatically calculating the acoustic-magnetic time difference and displaying route deviation information, the pinpointer accurately identifies the exact fault location with exceptional precision. Multiple filtering modes, noise suppression technologies, and IP65-rated sensors ensure reliable performance even in challenging field environments.
