Automatic Oil Acid Value Tester | VS-9801S
Products Details
Oil acid value testing is a routine inspection item for transformer oil and turbine oil. During long-term service, oil can oxidize and produce acidic compounds. A rising acid value may indicate oil aging, contamination, or operating stress, which can increase corrosion risk and affect the long-term reliability of oil-filled electrical equipment.
The VS-9801S is developed for automatic oil acid number measurement. It is based on acid-base neutralization and uses microcomputer control to manage the complete testing process. The instrument automatically handles liquid adding, sample stirring, titration, endpoint judgment, background blank deduction, result calculation, storage, and printing.
Compared with manual titration, the VS-9801S reduces repeated reagent handling and manual endpoint judgment. This is especially useful for laboratories that process multiple transformer oil or turbine oil samples in one batch. With six selectable cup positions, users can prepare several samples and let the instrument complete the test sequence automatically.
The tester uses a large color touch LCD. Operators can set cup positions, date and time, and the test workflow directly on the screen. Before formal testing, the system provides cleaning, extraction liquid exhaust, and neutralization liquid exhaust functions to prepare the reagent pipelines.
Each oil cup requires 10.0 mL of oil sample and one magnetic stirring bar. During testing, the instrument displays the current cup number, titration status, endpoint value, and completion status. Up to 35 groups of test results can be stored and printed for laboratory records or maintenance reports.

Product Guide
Before use, place the VS-9801S on a stable bench and connect the power supply. After startup, enter the initialization page from the touch screen. Initialization should be completed before formal testing, especially after reagent replacement or when the instrument has not been used for some time.
Use the system cleaning function to flush the extraction and neutralization pipelines. Place a waste cup in the correct position so cleaning liquid can be collected safely. After cleaning, use the extraction exhaust and neutralization exhaust functions until no visible bubbles remain in the reagent pipelines.
Before testing, enter the cup position setting page and select the sample cups that will participate in measurement. Add 10.0 mL of oil sample into each selected oil cup and place one magnetic stirring bar into each cup. Close the sample chamber cover before starting the test.
During measurement, the instrument automatically adds reagent, stirs the sample, performs titration, identifies the endpoint, and calculates the acid value. After testing, results are saved automatically. Users can review stored records and print selected results through the built-in printer.
After daily use, loosen the peristaltic pump pressure plates to prevent tubing deformation. Clean the extraction and neutralization pipelines with anhydrous ethanol to prevent blockage. Reagents should be sealed and stored at room temperature away from light.

Application Scenarios
The VS-9801S is suitable for transformer oil laboratories that need to process several samples in each batch. The six-cup structure reduces repeated setup work and improves testing efficiency for routine acid value inspection.
In substations and power utility maintenance programs, the instrument can be used to monitor oil aging in transformers, reactors, oil-filled circuit breakers, and related equipment. Acid value data can be used together with dielectric strength, moisture, and dissolved gas analysis results.
In power plants, the VS-9801S can be used for turbine oil acid number testing. Regular acid value measurement helps maintenance teams observe oil oxidation and support decisions about oil treatment, replacement, or further inspection.
For transformer repair workshops and electrical service companies, the instrument supports oil quality verification before filling, after oil treatment, and after maintenance work.
Applications
The VS-9801S is used by power utilities, substations, transformer manufacturers, transformer repair workshops, power plants, industrial enterprises, oil testing laboratories, and electrical testing contractors. It is suitable for routine acid value measurement of transformer oil, turbine oil, and other applicable oil samples.
Typical tested samples include insulating oil from transformers, turbine lubricating oil, oil from reactors, oil-filled capacitors, oil-filled switches, and other mineral oil systems where acid number is used as a maintenance indicator.
Customer Case
A regional oil testing laboratory received transformer oil samples from several substations every week. The previous manual titration process required repeated reagent handling, endpoint observation, and manual record writing. As sample volume increased, the laboratory needed a more efficient workflow.
The laboratory selected the VS-9801S because it could test up to six samples in one sequence. Technicians prepared each sample cup with 10.0 mL of oil and a magnetic stirring bar, selected the active cup positions on the touch screen, and started automatic testing.
The instrument completed reagent adding, stirring, titration, endpoint judgment, and result storage. With the built-in printer, the laboratory produced test records directly after measurement. The automatic workflow reduced repeated manual operation and helped maintain more consistent acid value testing between different technicians.
