VS-W250-500 Partial Discharge Free AC Withstand Voltage Test System is engineered to meet the stringent requirements of modern high-voltage insulation testing and partial discharge measurement. Utilizing advanced SF6 gas-insulated transformer technology, the system eliminates the environmental risks associated with traditional oil-immersed test transformers while providing superior insulation performance and long-term operational reliability.

Designed for testing transformers, GIS switchgear, power cables, bushings, insulators, reactors, and other high-voltage apparatus, the system combines a high-voltage test transformer, coupling capacitor, voltage divider, current limiting reactor, low-voltage compensation reactor, isolation transformer, and intelligent control console into a complete testing platform.

The complete testing system maintains a partial discharge level of ≤5pC under rated voltage conditions, making it suitable for factory acceptance testing, type testing, routine insulation verification, and research applications requiring ultra-low partial discharge performance. The output waveform distortion remains below 2%, ensuring accurate and repeatable test results that comply with international testing standards.

The integrated low-voltage compensation reactor significantly reduces power demand while improving system efficiency. Multiple compensation stages allow precise adjustment of reactive power, enabling stable voltage output even under demanding testing conditions.

How the System Works

The system utilizes an integrated modular design where all components collaborate seamlessly to establish a closed-loop testing ecosystem:

  • Isolation Transformer: First, it filters out high-frequency surges and line-side interference from the power source (achieving a filtering attenuation of ≥ 60dB at 100kHz–2MHz), ensuring a clean and stable power supply input.

  • Intelligent Control Console: Operators adjust the input voltage via the console, which drives the SF₆ Gas-Insulated Partial Discharge Free Test Transformer to step up and generate a power-frequency AC high voltage of up to 500kV.

  • Low-Voltage Compensation Reactor: It performs real-time reactive power compensation against the capacitive load of the test object. This significantly reduces the reactive power demand on the grid and minimizes input power capacity requirements.

  • High-Voltage Divider & Coupling Capacitor: During testing, the High-Voltage Divider continuously and precisely monitors the output voltage (Class 1.0 accuracy), while the Coupling Capacitor captures highly sensitive, real-time partial discharge (PD) signals.

  • High-Voltage Current-Limiting Reactor: Connected in series with the output terminal, it instantly restricts the short-circuit current in the event of a test object flashover or breakdown, protecting the entire test system from transient overvoltage shocks.
