The instrument supports multiple selectable output currents ranging from 50A to 600A, allowing users to choose the optimal test current according to different equipment ratings and testing standards. High-current injection enables precise evaluation of contact quality in circuit breakers, GIS equipment, disconnect switches, busbars, cable joints, and other conductive components.

The VS-5206 features a 7-inch industrial-grade color touchscreen with an intuitive user interface that simplifies parameter configuration, test execution, waveform display, and data management. Operators can easily select output current, test duration, language, communication settings, and measurement parameters through the touch interface.

A built-in high-capacity rechargeable lithium battery enables portable field testing without requiring an external AC power supply. After high-current tests at 500A or 600A, the instrument automatically enters a 10-second cooling period to protect the internal power circuitry and improve long-term reliability.

The tester integrates Bluetooth communication, RS232 connectivity, USB flash drive export, internal memory, and intelligent data management functions. Measurement records can be viewed, stored, exported, or deleted directly from the instrument, making report generation and asset management more efficient.

How the VS-5206 Works

The VS-5206 injects a stable high DC current into the test object through dedicated current leads while simultaneously measuring the voltage drop across the contact using separate sensing leads. Utilizing the four-terminal Kelvin measurement principle, the instrument eliminates lead resistance and calculates highly accurate contact resistance values.

After the selected current stabilizes, the tester automatically performs measurement and stops output upon completion. When operating at 500A or 600A, the instrument automatically activates a cooling cycle before the next measurement to maintain system reliability.
