VS-5201S Handheld Contact Resistance Tester is developed in accordance with DL/T 845.4-2019 and is specifically designed for measuring the contact resistance of high-voltage switchgear and other low-resistance conductive connections. As an ultra-portable centerpiece in our contact resistance tester lineup, it is also suitable for any field application requiring high-current micro-resistance measurement with excellent accuracy and stability.

Powered by an advanced high-speed processor, the tester delivers up to 100A DC output current, ensuring stable measurements with minimal influence from contact oxidation or surface contamination. High-current testing enables accurate evaluation of electrical contact quality, helping detect loose connections, aging contacts, overheating risks, and abnormal resistance before equipment failure occurs.

The instrument features a 7-inch high-brightness color touchscreen with an intuitive graphical interface that remains clearly visible even under direct sunlight. Operators can easily select test current, measurement duration, language, and system settings through the touch interface.

To improve field efficiency, the VS-5201S incorporates a large-capacity rechargeable lithium battery, eliminating dependence on external AC power during on-site testing. Multiple selectable test durations allow users to optimize measurements according to different testing requirements.

Built-in data storage supports 512 test records, while USB flash drive export simplifies report management. The integrated real-time clock automatically timestamps every measurement, and the voice broadcast function announces test results immediately after completion, improving convenience in outdoor working environments.

How the VS-5201S Works

The VS-5201S injects a stable 50A or 100A DC current into the test object and measures the voltage drop across the contact using the four-terminal Kelvin measurement method. The instrument automatically calculates the contact resistance with micro-ohm resolution, effectively eliminating lead resistance and ensuring highly accurate results.

Operators simply connect the current and voltage leads, select the desired current level and test duration, and press the start button. After measurement, resistance, output current, and test time are displayed on the screen, while the result is automatically announced through the voice broadcast system and can be saved or exported to a USB drive.
